Registration begins at 6:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 8:30 a.m to 5:30 p.m.

On October 1st and 2nd, 2010 the Florida School of Massage, AlternativEducators, and the Florida chapter of the FSMTA will present Pain: An Integrative Approach for Healthcare Professionals. Fourteen professionals from a variety of modalities will come together to share their expertise and information on managing pain from an allopathic to an alternative perspective.

Clinicians in the field of socialwork, massage, medicine, pharmacy, nursing, acupuncture, and chiropractic care will come together to share a day of exploration into the dynamics of pain management.

We begin on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. with keynote speaker, Jordan Goodman, ARNP, PhD. a local Gainesville Nurse Practitioner, herbalist and pain specialist who has recently retired as the clinical director of Shands Pain Clinic in Gainesville, Florida. On Saturday, presenters will address various ways of treating pain from medication management to use of hypnotherapy, aromatherapy, energy healing, massage, meditation, acupuncture, chiropractic care and more.

The workshop will conclude with a forum of presenters answering questions and encouraging discussion of ways to integrate allopathic methods with alternative and complementary modalities. Creating a gentler, more compassionate system for the many individuals who are suffering from pain will be the focus of this exciting and innovative seminar. The workshop will offer 10 Live CEU's and will be held at the Florida School of Massage in Gainesville Florida.

Cost: $125.00 early registration and $140.00 after September 7th, 2010.  This course is approved by the The Florida Boards of Clinical Social work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Nursing, Massage Therapy, and Acupuncture. Register
